Due to the winter storm, the community supper for Womenade was postponed to Feb 8th.

Join us as we enjoy a fabulous meal & support a great cause! On Tuesday, February 1st, Roberts Maine Grill in Kittery, ME weekly community supper benefits Womenade of Kittery, ME. Sweet Scoops will help provide dessert with our Dutch Chocolate Chip and Roberts’ delicious house made cream puff.

In the next couple of days we will each consume some 3000-6000 calories in one sitting celebrating all for which we are Thankful, which is no doubt far more calories than I am supposed to eat in three days, let alone in a few hours.  Yet, I can’t wait!  I love Thanksgiving and all that it stands for, especially the abundance of very good food.  And as I celebrate with family and friends, I know I will slip and indulge a little too much while trying to be a healthy hedonist – enjoying life’s fabulous indulgences with balance. This may sound odd coming from a dessert company, but that is truly our goal: satisfying pleasures with moderation. And yes, sometimes we’ll lose balance too…another helping of stuffing or perhaps a second slice of pie…it happens.

So, we want to hear how you navigate the Thanksgiving meal and coming holidays – how are you a healthy hedonist? Or how did you try to be a healthy hedonist and what temptation led you to have your cake and eat it too? Or maybe you reject this whole idea all together and Thanksgiving truly is your day to stuff the bird and yourself silly. We want to hear it all. Send us your stories, recipes, photos, and tell us how you celebrate food, family, and all there is to be thankful for while intent on a healthy lifestyle and enjoying life’s pleasures.

We’ll pick our favorite and announce the winner in the December “Dose of Culture” newsletter. You could win three pints of your favorite flavors of Sweet Scoops. And be crowned the first Healthy Hedonist winner. This may call for a trophy.

This frozen pumpkin pie is just as rich and creamy as the traditional variety with the added indulgence of a toffee, walnut topping and chocolate drizzle. Seconds anyone?

Pumpkin Mania at Verrill Farm

November 22, 2009

Today we wrapped up the first annual Sweet Scoops Pumpkinfest at Verrill Farm in Concord, MA. We could not have picked a better final stop to sample our Pumpkin, Ginger, and Madagascar Vanilla just before the holiday. We made many new fans and were pleasantly surprised to meet so many faithful followers. From big and small, to young and old, and on two legs and on four – everyone raved over our sinful tasting frozen yogurts, or in the case of Guinness, wagged wildly.

We met many long-time, diehard Sweet Scoops fans as we scooped and spread the word about our Sweet creamy, yumminess. Thank you Verrill Farm and all our fans in Concord, MA.
